Sorry, Wrong Number

Lately, any free time (if we ever have that) is spent doing homework or studying textbooks. Even with our workload, we usually try and take at least a half hour to take a break and have family home evening. It was Tanner's week to pick our FHE activity and I was excited to see what wanted to do.

We just had Tanner's an old lamp lit and turned off the rest of the lights. He plugged is iPhone into some speakers and on came CBS Radio Drama suspense from the 1940's called "Sorry, Wrong Number." This story was presented eight times between 1943 and 1960, and ended up becoming radio's most famous play. I shudder just thinking about it.

Best FHE ever? Lets just say we may or may not have kept a night light on.

P.S. We will be listening to the top ten scariest radio dramas; next up "The War of the Worlds."

Joyeux Anniversaire

My dear sweet Tanner Lynn.

I can still remember the day this bright blonde haired boy caught my eye. He is not only physically attractive but his personality was what really pulled me in. Anyone that knows Tanner, knows what a fun loving guy he is. He is the kind of guy that you can't help but want to be around. There really is something about him that draws people in. Seriously, this kid is friends with everyone. He makes me laugh more than anything else. 

I love being able to listen to him talk about his dreams and plans for the future. So many nights we've stayed up way too late just talkin about nothing and everything, and you know what? Those moments are ones that I cherish. He truly makes me want to be a better person.

Tanner has a knack for running. I am amazed at his endurance and how he pushes himself to do better. Not to mention he is pretty dang fast. One of my very first memories of Tanner was when I saw him at X-country practice with his bright green shorts and shaggy blonde hair. 

Just by looking at this picture you can tell what kind of guy he is. That dork of mine. :)

Tanner served an LDS mission in the south of France. I can never get enough of his mission stories; I love hearing about the people he met and taught and the influence they had in his life. His time spent serving the Lord really helped him develop into the person God knew he could be. He has such a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and does all that he can to share that with others. I am so grateful for his example in my life and the light he brings to our little family.

Today we get to celebrate his 23rd birthday.
