Booking all our train's ahead of time, we were bound to run into a problem at some point.
Luckily for us we only ran into one train problem. And it wasn't even our fault (mostly).
We had a short pit stop of sorts in Beziers which was perfect because this was another of Tanner's villes. Since there isn't much to do there, we had planned to walk around (knowing this was probably the last time he'd come here), grab some lunch and then head to our next destination.
(This may or may not be one of my favorite pictures of T from his mission...my heart definitely skipped a beat when I got this in a letter)
What was weird though was that this train would have taken us exactly where we needed to go but our tickets said we needed to get off and board the later train. Both of us thought to just stay on the train but did as our tickets said instead. I had a thought to double check our tickets one last time before the train we just got off left. Everything looked right until I noticed the date. The last leg of this trip had a date from 4 days earlier. Nooo! Tried to make it back on the train but it pulled away right as we got up to the platform.
**NOTE, 4 days earlier we had to exchange some tickets because we altered our trip to stay one more night in Montpelier instead of Beziers. If it wasn't for this switch, we would have had no problems with our train tickets**
That's unfortunate but I thought it wouldn't be a problem. We would explain to the attendant what happened, exchange our tickets and take the next train out. Too bad we were in France and customer service is not a thing. The lady recognized it wasn't our fault but said she wasn't going to do anything to help us. Grumpily we re-purchased our tickets.
At least we were able to walk into the center of town and even got to see the apartment where he lived. Just wish we could have gone to Star Kebab (T has raved about this place, best kebabs in France).
I liked Beziers, even though I was grumpy.
