$17 worth of free chocolate? Yes mam.

This weekend was a good one. Tanner got up and went on his usual Saturday morning trail run while I stayed at home and finished some math homework. When he got home and I had finished math we watched the last hour of The Hobbit which we had red-boxed the night before and failed to stay up to finish. We had a couple hours to spare before we were to meet up with my Aunt LuAnne and some other family members for a late lunch. So what did we do? We headed over to the mall for our usual window shopping trip.

We find we go to the mall often but rarely ever buy anything. For some reason we just like to walk around. Weirdos. Then the thought occurred, "We have a 1# gift certificate to See's Candies" (Side-note: I won it at a bridal shower for our cousin Tiffany, along with 2 movie passes). Turns out that little piece of paper gave us $17.50 in chocolates, truffles and fudge. We went to town and picked out our freebies ranging from an apple pie white chocolate truffle to a chunk of rocky road fudge. I couldn't wait to open up that chocolate box and try them all.

That afternoon we walked down the street to meet up for the classic before-football-game-meal at the Brick Oven. After 3 large pizzas were consumed, it was game time. My aunt has season tickets every year since I can remember and is always so generous to share with the whole family. Free game? Don't mind if we do. We had just gotten into the car and when in a matter of minutes the torrential rains came. All those poor soaked fans running for cover; luckily we were nice and dry thanks to the confines of the car.

Then an hour and half later, the officials gave the okay for the game to start. The rest of the night was pretty calm with only a few sprinkles here and there. Unfortunately however, we were sitting behind perpetual standers. Often our view of the field looked a lot like this...
They felt the need to stand most of the game
Yeah great view huh?

Poncho fashion :)
LuAnne let us keep the rain ponchos we were wearing just in case it started to rain again while we walked home after the game. We were minding our own business walkin down University Ave with our rain ponchos on, when a not very nice guy yelled some not very nice things at us. Apparently it bugged him that we were wearing rain ponchos (looking back I can see how ridiculous we were for just leaving a rain soaked football game wearing ponchos...jeez, the nerve of us to go out in public like that! *facepalm* ).

What an adventurous day we had.
